Grace has carried Grace
Almost a year since I've written about this amazing little piece of Grace and I can tell you so much has transpired since then. The journey at times seems smooth and then there are days when I can't help but be grateful for the Grace that carries Grace.
Her progress within this past year has without a doubt magnified a God who knew when He formed her the countless miracles that would unfold before my eyes. There are times when I wonder, how Lord? Yet every single time that I have, He has been so faithful to answer and there are no words to describe how my heart just wells up with gratitude.
Public school was part of the changes that has occured this year and I must confess, when I first met with the teacher to go over what is expected from Gracie on account of the core curriculum that has been implemented (Kindergarten used to be fun in my days), I must confess I began to once again ask, "How Lord?" And once again He reminded me of His promise in Isaiah 54:13.
Today was parent teacher conference and it took 2 and a half hours to meet not only with her teacher, but also with her speech, occupational and physical therapist. Needless to say once again, Grace has carried Grace in the areas where I was most concerned about, and the tedious things that we take for granted, such as holding a pencil in her hand to write (she's getting better), or being able to sit for more than 10 minutes (she has been provided with a wedge to help her sit in class due to her body awareness), I believe she will overcome as well. I don't for one moment ever wonder how different things would be if she weren't diagnosed with Autism because truth is, I have also grown in this journey with her and wouldn't change a thing about it.

A Hope built on a sure foundation
While the world is busy trying to discover a cure for Autism, we as a family, have embraced our antidote. If there is one thing we share in common, it is the beauty of Hope.
Our family, though far from perfect, have an amazing little blessing named Gracie wrapped up in endless possibilities, miracles, signs and wonders. She is who we love effortlessly, and who GOD himself uses to teach us what purity is. She is the very dream of God birthed into our reality and she teaches us about freedom to just be.
Her recital of Psalm 23 and The Lords prayer are proof that God can use the staff placed in her hand, to demonstrate His ultimate authority in selecting the foolish things of this world to confound the wise.
He makes her lie down in green pastures, He leads her beside quiet waters.
